Installation is well under way of the new Empress Ballroom Blackpool organ. The solo chamber is nearing completion with most of the parts in situ ready for wiring and wind lines to be connected. The main chamber has been laid out but not yet finalised as this is a much tighter space due to electrical gear installed after the removal of the original organ. The blower has been assembled and is sitting in it's final resting place and we are awaiting the go ahead to get it connected to the three phase supply. The organ is made up of several builders, using Compton chests, regulators and relays with mostly Wurlitzer pipework to give that 'Blackpool' sound. we hope to have it playing soon for an opening later in the year.

We have managed to source and purchase four sets of Wurlitzer shutters for the New Empress Ballroom Blackpool organ and have also taken delivery of our new English Horn for the same instrument from Booths of Leeds. The next few weeks will see more parts transferred to the Empress organ chambers ready for installation later this year.

We're Back, after a few technical problems with the webste!!!

Work has now started in the Empress Ballroom Blackpool on the installation of the new organ. More details and photos are to follow, but this is our most exiting project to date!

Our concerts at all venues have continued to be well supported, but we could do with a few more to support us at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton. Whilst we are holding our own, larger numbers will secure the continuation of the concerts. See the 'Wolverhampton' page for more details

The Club has now purchased the 3/9 Compton from the Ambassador/ODEON Cosham and is in the process of removing it from storage in Salford, near Manchester. The organ is in EXCELLENT condition. Watch this space for details on a new home for this superb organ.

The 'Troxy Benefit Concert' at the Civic Hall in February went very well and raised over £1000 towards the installation of the Ex Trocadero Wurlitzer into the Troxy at Stepney. The event was well supported with a lot of visitors who hadn't previously seen or heard the Civic organ. Let's hope that we will see a few return visitors for our future concerts.
